Overall fundraising has approached $500,000 for Curt’s Pitch for ALS, the charity of legend Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox.
Curt Schilling with his wife Shonda and son Gehrig address more than 50 boston amateur baseball players in the 95th inning of the sixth annual 100-inning Baseball Spectacular to benefit the ALS Association of Massachusetts.
More than 100 players suited up over the course of the 2009 game, and 22 iron men played the entire game, all 31 straight hours, without a wink of sleep in between. These men are:
- From Team Curt: Brett Rudy, Jay Thomas, Scott Nickerson, Kevin Bell, Aaron Fialkow, Ryan Bere, Ryan Gagne, Kevin O’Leary, Patrick Averill, Matt Bertles and Jimmy Casele. Hailing from Framingham High School, at age 16, Jimmy is the youngest player to ever play all 100 innings.
