Winterball Baseball benefits the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots program. To play, baseball players donated at least one unwrapped toy for the cause. Lance Corporal Marchino from the U.S. Marines was on-hand to collect toys.
The game began by Kevin O’Leary hitting Frosty the Snowman in the ribs, but we got ice!! KO settled down, threw a complete game, and struck out 9 Gansta Wrappers en route to a 13-8 victory by the Silent Knights.
Of note, John Robles, while pitching for the Wrappers in the 6th inning, chucked a snowball with a runner on third base and was called for a balk, giving up a run. Since when is throwing a snowball a balk??!!
While the field had a 3″ snow cover, home plate, the pitcher’s mound, and the base lines were shoveled out – and the game was played flawlessly!
Brett Rudy from Boston Baseball addresses ballplayers and presents gifts to LCpl Max Marchino from the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program.
We got ice!! Kevin O’Leary of the South Shore Giants plunks Frosty the Snowman in the ribs during the 19th Annual Winterball Baseball Game benefitting Toys for Tots.
Testing out the base paths after shoveling the snow from home plate, the pitcher’s mound, and the base lines. The field is ready for play!
