This summer’s Cooperstown Classic Baseball Tournament was played over Father’s Day weekend and featured eight teams. Ben’s Dream White Sox won the championship, defeating the Boston Expos, 9-5, at Doubleday Field. More information to come!

Ben’s Dream White Sox Win Third Cooperstown Classic, First Since 2013

We did it the hard way… We lost Game 1 at Doubleday Field to the Brooklyn Dukes after a hard-fought 2-2 game turned into a 4-2 loss following two late solo home runs. We won Game 2 on Saturday at Beaver Valley against a veteran Cambridge Nine team, scoring 21 runs.
We entered Playoff Sunday as the No. 4 seed. We beat the No. 5 seed Genesee Brewers 7-0 behind a shutout by Eric Kamp at Winsor Field. Then we knocked off the No. 1 seed Crown City Benchwarmers 14-10 at Beaver Valley in the semifinals. Finally, we defeated the Boston Expos 9-5 in the championship game on Doubleday Field on Sunday night.
Jake Simpson got the save in the semifinal with three scoreless innings, then carried it over into the final, where he threw seven innings of two-run ball for the win.
Epic performances by Marco Baratta, Mark Minutaglio, Jon Tasman, Randy Gonzalez, and many others, along with incredible work behind the plate by Leandro Inoa, who caught 35 innings over Saturday and Sunday combined.
Three nine-inning baseball games on three different fields on Sunday to win the tournament. We are the CHAMPS again… finally!
