In “Bleacher Bums,” a bunch of die-hard baseball fans hang out in the stands to watch their local team play against a rival. The characters are an eclectic mix, including inveterate gamblers, a man chided by his wife for his betting losses, and a blind fan who relies on a fellow spectator to describe the action.

Adapted from a 1979 stage play, the film dives into the personal dramas, bets, and camaraderie that unfold among these colorful characters as the innings pass by. Balancing slice-of-life comedy with the universal highs and lows of sports fandom, “Bleacher Bums” delivers a heartwarming and entertaining look at the lives of everyday fans.
