“Damn Yankees” is a 1958 musical comedy that blends baseball with a Faustian tale. Joe Boyd trades his soul to the devil, Applegate, to help his team, the Washington Senators, beat the Yankees. Transformed into star player Joe Hardy, he faces success and fame but misses his old life and wife. The team’s journey is highlighted by the song “Heart.”

Lola, Applegate’s assistant, is sent to seduce Joe but falls for him instead. The climax unfolds in a high-stakes game where Joe must choose between his old and new life. The film tackles love and ambition, featuring standout songs like “Whatever Lola Wants.”
