UPDATE: Investors Sue Over NY Yankees Film “Keeper of the Pinstripes”

Movie investors have sued over an alleged fraud concerning $565,000 invested in a film titled “Keeper of the Pinstripes”, which was supposed to depict the New York Yankees and their historic stadium. The film was slated to star Josh Lucas and release in 2010 but never did. The lawsuit, filed in New York Supreme Court, questions the authenticity of the project.

Investment groups KOTP I and KOTP II, claim to have initially invested $125,000 each and were later asked for more funds, amounting to $315,000 in total per group. They assert that defendants, including Joshua Newman and Alfred Zaccagnino, created shell companies to divert and misuse the funds. The defendants are accused of financial mismanagement, including failing to refund investments and maintain proper financial records.

In a twist, Newman has pointed to an earlier indictment for fraud against a key individual in KOTP, suggesting that those suing him are fraudulent themselves. A 2012 filing had cleared Zaccagnino of related claims, but the case continued against Newman.
