The Natural is Roy Hobbs, a 14-year-old with a powerful bat from a fallen oak tree who impresses major league scouts. A meeting with a mysterious woman shatters his dream. Years later, an older Hobbs reappears as a rookie from The New York Knights. Overcoming physical pain and defying all odds, Hobbs, with his boyhood bat named Wonderboy, leads the Knights to the pennant and fulfills his dream.
