2024 Hank Aaron

This Hank Aaron Forever baseball postage stamp is issued July 31, 2024 and printed in panes of 20 by the USPS to honor the legendary player from the Atlanta Braves.

The stamp pays tribute to Henry “Hank” Aaron (1934-2021), a pivotal figure in baseball who overcame significant racial challenges to set new records and become a symbol of perseverance and excellence. Notably, he broke Babe Ruth’s home run record with his 715th home run on April 8, 1974. The stamp art is an original digital portrait of Aaron in his Atlanta Braves cap and jersey, depicting his famous right-handed batting stance. Aaron is remembered not only for his on-field prowess but also for his dignity and humanitarian efforts off the field.

Greg Breeding served as the art director and designer of the stamp, with Chuck Styles providing the original artwork. The pane’s selvage features a depiction of Aaron watching his record-breaking home run, capturing a monumental moment in sports history.

The July 31 issue date in Atlanta marks the 55th anniversary of Aaron surpassing Mickey Mantle’s record for career home runs. The Hank Aaron stamp will be available for 68¢ each, maintaining its value as a Forever stamp equal to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
