Bird is the Word Honey Kölsch

Bird Is The Word from Checkerspot Brewing Co. is a honey Kölsch brewed in honor of the Baltimore Orioles, made with local honey malt from Bear Branch Malthouse and honey from Charm City Meadworks. It pours a slightly darker gold than a traditional Kölsch with good clarity and a bright white head, with an aroma that leans cracker-like with light honey sweetness and a faint fruit note.

The flavor stays easygoing with soft grain, mild citrus, low bitterness, and a touch of caramel or nuttiness depending on the pour. While the body can feel a little thin, it remains an easy game-day beer built for warm weather and Orioles baseball.
