Ueker on the Radio
Made by Lion’s Tale Brewing, Uecker on the Radio is a baseball beer honoring Bob Ueker, the radio play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers since 1971. This hazy double IPA features Wai-iti, Sabro, and Lemondrop hops, giving it a smooth mouthfeel with notes of tropical fruit sweetness of mango and pineapple. A Lemongrass earthiness and coconut nose round out this brew.
Known as Mr. Baseball, the comedic character was honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003 with the Ford C. Frick Award in recognition of his broadcasting career. Ueker also claimed fame with his role in the Major League movie franchise. And if you liked that flick, check out Just a Wit Outside, a beer honoring his role in that movie.
Of course, the first beer that made Ueker famous was Miller Lite back in 1984 as a result of his recurring role in their tv commercials. “Hey, I must be in the front row!”
