Marking the 60th anniversary of the war’s end, the “Battlefield Baseball Players” monument was established to honor the memories of junior high school, university, and amateur baseball players who perished in the war. Similarly, the “Monument of Requiem” stands as a tribute to those early pioneers of Japanese professional baseball who laid its foundation but tragically lost their lives in the conflict. This poignant chapter in Japanese baseball history must always be remembered.Professional Baseball in Japan
