Set during the Florida land boom of the 1920s, “The New Klondike” follows small-town pitcher Thomas Kelly. After being ousted from his team by a jealous manager, Joe Cooley, Kelly ventures into real estate. However, a scheme by Cooley and a deceitful broker tricks Kelly and his teammates into buying worthless swampland.

Battling betrayal and financial ruin, Kelly’s grit allows him to bounce back, reclaiming lost funds and securing significant success. In a poetic turn of events, Kelly takes Cooley’s place as the team’s manager, showcasing a tale of ambition, deception, and redemption set against the backdrop of baseball and historical American speculation.
